Ewen says, “We made a real home out of this property and really loved just relaxing in it in the evening and weekends. We also loved the addition of the large pergola on the patio, which really made the outdoor space very usable during the summer and fall and is an amazing place just to sit and take it all in.”

In terms of indoor space, Ewen tells us about updates, “There are many upgrades throughout the house…such as wood floors, plantation shutter, granite countertops throughout, and vinyl planks in the basement.”

Prime Location

The home is located in a prime location as Ewen explains, “The location is also excellent. Close to trails for running/biking/hiking and incredibly convenient for grocery shopping across the street. Its also a great location to get to Hwy 36 to get to Boulder or Denver, and only 2 miles from the fun to be had in downtown Louisville.”

“Despite its wonderfully convenient location, its very quiet,” he goes on to say.

More Location Fun

The home has great access to the outdoors, as Ewen sums up,”The Coal Creek trail is only 1/4 mile away for amazing access to trails and the outdoors. Its endless. Davidson Mesa and Harper Lake are also close and represent some of the best outdoor/open spaces the area has to offer.”

Him and his wife are, “…runners, bikers, and hikers so as already talked about, this is a big part of wanting to live here. We also enjoyed frequenting the local restaurants and eateries and taking evening strolls through the neighborhood.”

The couple enjoy visiting Paul’s Coffee off McCaslin and Cherry, which is a 5 minute walk or 1 minute drive. (They swear it’s the best coffee around.) They also frequent several of the restaurants off McCaslin such as Busaba Thai (best Thai food in Boulder County) and Tibets for Indian style food (try the veggie samosas or momo soup).

And, “Safeway is a stones throw away across Dahlia, so perfect convenience for groceries,” Ewen shares.

What They’ll Miss

Even with new adventures, Ewen will miss several things about the home including the neighbors, fireplace, and convenience. “The neighbors were great and we became good friends with quite a few of them. Couldn’t ask for better people. The coziness of the home was also something we miss. Turn the fireplace on during a cold winters evening and snuggle up on the couch. Nothing like it in this place. The convenience of being able to walk to the grocery store and coffee shop is also missed,” he shares.

And, there’s the pergola and master bedroom perks as well, as Ewen states that, “Without a doubt the giant pergola and shade arbor become one of our favorite features of the home. Its transformed the outdoor patio space from something that was a little exposed to the public and super hot in the summer to a perfect private space we could enjoy for 2/3rds of the year. The large master bedroom and big closet were also great features of living here.”

Overall, he explains that, “We (him and his wife) loved living here for 10 years. It was our first house after getting married in 2008 and has been a source of many great memories for us.”
