About the Home
Marie’s favorite thing about the home is, “the natural light that brightens each room.”
Also, she explains that, “Because we are a corner lot, and the way the home is situated, the lot maximizes the size of the yard and really provides a great deal of privacy. This home is great for entertaining with the circular flow and the access to the yard, deck and patio areas.”
Updates and Upgrades
Marie made some updates and upgrades to the home, “Two years ago we replaced the old window wells with new ones that have a stone look. This has made the finished basement feel like a part of the home. At the same time we replaced the carpet in the basement with beautiful laminate flooring specially made for basements.”
She has also updated the gardens. “When we moved into the home in the fall of 2015, I removed all the old landscaping from the beds and over the past 4 years I have planted a stunning garden that blooms from spring to fall. All plants are drought resistant and butterfly and bee friendly. The garden has been a labor of love for me. I designed an inlaid rock mosaic in the front garden,” explains Marie.
Nearby Things to Do
Marie says, “I love the proximity of the bike path to my neighborhood. I like to ride paths and not have to worry about traffic so this is a big draw for me.” Also, “Walking through the neighborhood is like being in a park.”
“The small cafes and coffee shops of Prospect are a real treat. I really appreciate having the bagel store so close to me,” Marie talks about the nearby Prospect neighborhood.
And about Main Street in downtown Longmont, she shares, “One of my go-to restaurants is downtown, which is a short bike ride up main street. The Pumphouse. I love their menu, especially the pretzel bites.”
Marie also enjoys the neighborhood and the neighborhood park. She says, “A real treat is the proximity of the neighborhood park–it is just across the street. This is such a great neighborhood to walk pets or just take yourself on a walk. The pride of the of the homeownership shows by the wonderful care of the yards and homes. We as a neighborhood are so fortunate to have the open space on the other side of Plateau Rd.”
